Common problems encountered during the use of hand-board silicone

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should I do if there are many air bubbles in the silicone rubber mold during demolding?

This situation needs to be handled according to the conditions. If a vacuum pump is available, the silicone rubber and curing agent should be mixed evenly before vacuum treatment. If there is no vacuum pump, the amount of curing agent added can be appropriately reduced, for example, the original ratio of silicone rubber to curing agent is 4%, which can now be changed to 1%-2%. In this way, the curing time of the silicone rubber mold will be slower, and the air in the mold will slowly be discharged, reducing bubbles.

2. What should I do if the silicone rubber mold is cured unevenly after curing?

This phenomenon is caused by 1. inaccurate ratio of silicone rubber to curing agent, not weighed according to requirements; 2. the silicone rubber and curing agent are not mixed thoroughly after mixing. This situation will cause the mold to be scrapped, so it should be avoided as much as possible.

3. What should I do if the silicone rubber is sticky?

This situation is caused by the unreasonable treatment of the mold (product model) in the early stage, so the mold should be treated before demolding. If the surface of the mold is rough or a very complex mold is made, it must be carefully polished and cleaned. Then apply the release agent evenly. Common release agents include Vaseline, detergent, liquid paraffin, etc. In actual operation, different release agents can be applied according to the material of the mold.

4. What should I do if the silicone rubber mold product is deformed?

This should be handled separately according to the size of the product. In principle, the size of the product is proportional to the hardness of the silicone rubber used. For small products or very delicate products, very soft silicone rubber can be used for molding, with a hardness of generally 10-20 degrees. This will make it easy to demold and will not damage the texture of delicate products. For large products, such as products larger than 50 cm, silicone rubber with a hardness of 40-50 should be used for molding. This will prevent deformation. If a very large and very delicate product is made, silicone rubber with a hardness of about 30 degrees can be used for molding (the method is to brush a layer of silicone rubber, cover a layer of fiberglass cloth, and then brush a layer of silicone rubber...), and the outside can be made of plaster or fiberglass (unsaturated resin + fiberglass cloth) to make an outer film to protect the product from deformation.

5. What should I do if the silicone rubber mold has a large shrinkage rate?

This is determined by the quality of the product. Our company's 630# product can solve this problem and can be 100% shrinkage-free.
