Making silicone molds is one of the simplest methods in rapid molding. The good elasticity and replication performance ensure that replicating model products using silicone rubber will not affect dimensional accuracy. It has good separability and does not require upper and lower molds; casting can be done directly. Then, the master mold can be cut out along the predetermined parting line.

Many plastic and rubber crafts and products in our lives can be cast using silicone molds. The methods for making various silicone rubber molds will also vary. When preparing to make a silicone mold, what aspects of mold making should we pay attention to?

Depending on the different operating methods for making silicone molds, there are three demolding methods: wrapping molding, brushing molding (segmented mold, three-dimensional mold, planar mold), and pouring molding.

When making molds for silicone products, the first consideration is the selection of mold raw materials. The choice of silicone mold material depends on the quality, quantity, and structure of the product.

When mixing, factors such as room temperature, mold strength, and hardness need to be considered. The specific method is to determine the total amount used based on the volume of the silicone mold, then accurately weigh the A and B components in proportion, place them in a container, and mix them evenly.

Silicone molding: Pour the prepared material onto the clean object to be replicated. To save material and create thinner silicone product molds, you can apply it in multiple coats; to increase the mold's tensile strength, you can paste gauze, etc. At a room temperature of 20 degrees, it will become an elastomer in 2 hours and can be used after one day. If the customer needs to make large products, such as segmented molds, a high-hardness liquid mold silicone should be used; conversely, for complex patterns and fine, small molds, such as wrapping molds, a soft liquid mold silicone must be used.
