Tire mold silicone rubber and tire silicone rubber are two-component room-temperature vulcanizing silicone rubbers, divided into condensation type and addition type, professionally used for tire mold making, tire aluminum mold casting, precision molds and other mold making for mold wrapping or injection molding. Depending on the operation method, it is usually adopted by the injection molding (wrapping) method, which is easy to demold; the hardness is generally around 12-20A.
Below, taking Jerry silicone's LT-620# condensation type tire mold silicone as an example, the operation process of tire silicone rubber mold making is specifically introduced:
1. Use wood as the original mold, and carve the tire surface pattern on it. (Note that the surface of the tire mold should be kept smooth, dry and clean, and so should the pattern grooves.)
2. Apply a release agent evenly to the surface of the prepared wooden mold, blow it dry with an air gun, and surround the four sides and bottom of the treated tire mold with steel plates. At the same time, before using the steel plates, their inner sides should also be coated with a release agent and blown dry.
3. Mix Jerry LT-620# tire mold silicone and curing agent evenly. The appearance of the tire mold silicone is a flowing liquid, component A is silicone, and component B is curing agent. Example: Take 100 grams of silicone and add 2 grams of curing agent.
4. Vacuum degassing treatment: After the silicone and curing agent are mixed evenly, vacuum degassing is carried out. The vacuum time should not be too long. Normally, it should not exceed 10 minutes. If the vacuum time is too long, the silicone will solidify immediately, causing cross-linking reaction, making the silicone become piece by piece, unable to be brushed or poured, which will lead to silicone scrap.
5. Apply a layer of prepared silicone evenly and carefully to the surface of the wooden mold, including the grooves, ensuring no bubbles are left. Then slowly pour it along a fixed pouring point, and shake it from time to time to remove the air inside.
6. After 90-120 minutes, when the silicone starts to bond, pour an appropriate amount of gypsum powder mixed with water into the mold frame until it is full.
7. After 6-8 hours, the silicone mold is completely cured. Open the mold frame, pry out the original model of the tire, and you will have a silicone tire mold.
8. Surround the prepared silicone mold with steel plates and place it in a steel frame for making the tire core.
9. Mix gypsum powder with water into a liquid state and slowly pour it into the mold frame. When the gypsum is about to solidify, place a 2cm × 1cm section of wood on both sides to form a buckle groove for easy shaping.
11. Embed steel sheets in the outer pattern grooves of the prepared gypsum core.
12. Use the above method to make 6 or 8 gypsum molds and connect them into a circle. Put sawdust kerosene in the core to make the tire core.
13. Place the gypsum outer mold made when making the silicone mold on the outer circle of the core. Place the gypsum core and outer mold on the steel plate, heat the gypsum core to 600 degrees, and inject aluminum alloy liquid. After filling, wait for it to cool and solidify.
14. Take out the cooled and formed aluminum alloy tire and place it on a tire steel rim correcting machine for precise correction to meet the application standards.
