Pad printing is the process of transferring patterns from a steel plate to a product using silicone as a carrier. In the application of pad printing silicone, an important component is the pad printing head. The pad printing head requires fine quality without impurities, good oil absorption, good resilience, and clear pattern printing. Jerry pad printing head, the pad printing mold opening process can be divided into the following ten steps:
Step 1: Select a suitable pad printing head mold;
Why choose a suitable pad printing head mold? This is because the size of the head is determined by the size of the pad printing pattern. The size ratio of the pad printing head to the pattern is generally 3:1. If a suitable pad printing head mold is not selected, the pad printing head will not be durable.
Step 2: Select a bonding plate suitable for the mold
Cover it when the mold is about to be formed. At this time, you can choose to drill holes, and after the glue is formed, it will be bonded to the head.
Step 3: Prepare the necessary materials and tools for making the pad printing head.
Prepare a cup for stirring, a glass rod, and select silicone with different properties according to the size of the pattern.
Step 4: Clean the mold with soapy water and wipe it clean with gauze
This is a necessary common sense step to avoid impurities causing the pad printing head to be not durable.
Step 5: Pour in the appropriate amount of silicone oil according to the required hardness of the pad printing head and stir evenly
The amount of silicone oil must be appropriate. The normal ratio of pad printing silicone and silicone oil is determined according to customer requirements. If the customer requires a large printing area, a soft head is needed, so more silicone oil is added. Conversely, if a hard head is needed, no or less silicone oil is added. Generally, the hardness of the pad printing head is suitable for 15A~-25A°. If the amount of silicone oil added is too large, the head is too soft, and the number of printings is limited. Even the best quality silicone will have its molecular weight destroyed by the silicone oil, resulting in wear resistance, solvent resistance, and aging phenomena.
Step 6: Add the curing agent at a ratio of 100:2 and stir evenly
The ratio cannot be wrong, otherwise uneven curing will occur. In severe cases of uneven stirring, the mold may be directly scrapped.
Step 7: Pour one-third of the silicone into the mold and vacuum the entire glue.
The pad printing glue for making silicone molds must be vacuumed to remove air bubbles.
Step 8: Pour the remaining glue into the mold
Step 9: After 8-10 minutes, when the glue is about to cross-link, cover the wooden board
Step 10: After 4-6 hours, it can be demolded, and it can be used after 8 hours.
After demolding, you can use scissors to trim the excess silicone around the pad printing head, and it can be put into production after 8 hours.
