Based on the mold-making experience of silicone rubber manufacturers, the ratio of curing agent to silicone rubber is adjusted according to customer requirements. If the customer requires fast curing and quick demolding, more curing agent should be added. For condensation silicone rubber, the maximum amount of curing agent added should not exceed 5%; the greater the amount of curing agent added, the faster the reaction speed of the silicone rubber. If the liquid silicone rubber and the curing agent are not mixed evenly before curing, the curing will start from the surface to the inside, and the curing speed will be slower towards the inside, and may even fail to cure completely, thus wasting the mold silicone rubber material.
When using liquid silicone rubber raw materials, mold silicone rubber raw materials, and encountering uncured phenomena during silicone mold making, we should know some reasons for troubleshooting:
1. Whether the curing agent has been added precisely according to the manufacturer's requirements; insufficient curing agent will affect the curing of the silicone rubber.
2. Whether the liquid mold rubber and the curing agent are fully and evenly mixed.
3. When the operating temperature is below 0 degrees, the silicone rubber and the curing agent will not react, so the silicone rubber will not cure. Usually, a room temperature of 25 degrees is most suitable for silicone rubber operation.
4. During the operation of addition-type mold rubber, it comes into contact with nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and other organotin chemical components (such as: the material of the model product itself, smoking environment, chemical component liquid reagents).
Solution: Operate the silicone rubber at room temperature, accurately add the curing agent according to the manufacturer's requirements, mix it thoroughly before use. At the same time, if it is addition-type silicone rubber, never contact tools that have been used for condensation-type products.
